On 19 September RATA collected a contaminated steel component. The item collected form “EMP recycling” will be handled as radioactive waste.
RATA was informed about the stored contaminated steel component by the Radiation Protection Centre. The equivalent gamma doze rate on the surface of the component ranged from 0,4 µSv/h to 1,2 µSv/h and 226Ra radionuclide was indentified. RATA employees collected and processed the contaminated steel part as radioactive waste that will be taken to the radioactive waste storage facility.
